Hakuba – Subiendo al juryo estará Hakuba, el mongol de Michinoku beya. Hakuba ha tenido un tormentoso ascenso en el banzuke, plagado por lesiones y tomándole siete años para finalmente lograr el juryo. Parecía que continuaría en makushita pero se ha visto muy bien en los últimos basho, terminando el basho de Kyushu como ganador. Michinoku beya, gano los títulos de juryo (Jumonji) y de makushita y ahora tratara de tener dos sekitori en makunouchi y dos en juryo. El renacer del joven Hakuba será un nuevo incentivo, mientras que los otros sekitori en Michinoku son todos cercanos a los 30 años, y muy difícilmente puedan
llegar a las alturas del sanyaku.

Kazafuzan – desde su debut en el Kyushu basho del 2003, Kazafuzan a logrado un marca de 75-50-1 y ha estado en makushita desde marzo del 2006,  llegando a las medianías del makushita antes del Kyushu basho. Sin contar las pequeñas caídas a mitad de camino, Kazafuzan ha mantenido su progreso y la razón por la que quiero incluirlo en esta lista es por que realmente es convincente: fuerte, con mucha confianza y dedicado en el dohyo. No teniendo demasiada competencia en Nishikido, lo obliga a hacer “degeiko” y le da la oportunidad de entrenar con rikishi de mas alto ranking, lo que lo ayuda en su progreso. A no ser por alguna lesión, no hay limite para lo que puede lograr.
